Understanding Network Marketing
Network marketing is probably one of the most misunderstood business models on the planet. The interesting thing to note is that more millionaires have come from this industry than almost any industry out there. The key to understanding network marketing is simply taking the time to get educated about it, and being clear on how it works.
Network marketing is really the most ethical business model on the planet when you really look at it because you only get paid in direct proportion to how many people you help in the process. Here are a couple videos for you to watch so that you can understand this great industry.
It’s Celebration Time!
Here we are at that time of the year, Celebration, where we all get together to celebrate each other’s success! I had said in an earlier blog, it’s important to be there if you have something to celebrate and if you don’t, you need to be there to celebrate other people’s success and for you to learn what it takes for you to be on top next year!
We need to take time to celebrate our successes, no matter how big or how small! You need to know YOU deserve it as well as everyone else. I used to sit in the back row at these conventions, watching the people receive their recognition , wondering what made them different from me! I soon learned the answer is … nothing!! We all have greatness within us.
But what the winners do have in common is focus! They are not building 3 or 4 different businesses or trying to accomplish 3 or 4 goals at once. No, their focus is streamlined at accomplishing 1 goal at a time. It usually is aimed at moving upward to a new rank and they probably do have goals of moving their group individually upward to their next rank as well , but the whole picture is everyone is like-minded, moving in the same direction- upward.
Winners also know what they want and when they will create it! They see the bigger picture and don’t get caught up in the daily grind of living. They make sure that the task that they are doing will create a step towards that goal. So many people get caught up in busy work that doesn’t go anywhere, answering emails, texting friends, organizing their office for example. Winners will do what it takes now and leave the busy work to do after their goal is accomplished! Paula Pritchard has a saying, “Work fast now and clean up the mess later!”
Winners also believe they can accomplish what they create. If you have any doubt, you will find you will question every step , making you move slowly and uncertainly. No one follows a leader that doesn’t know what they are doing. Plan your steps, if you are unsure , ask someone who has done this before. Notice I use the word create. That’s right. You do create your own situation, your own life. Are you receiving what you wish? If you are, celebrate that! If you are not, listen to what your inner voice is saying. You might recognize what it is saying is what you have created!
Winners know how to celebrate! One way to achieve your goal is to plan ahead of time how you are going to celebrate. If it is a group goal, plan a party or an event to recognize those who were successful. People will work harder for recognition than for money. Did you know that? It is so important to reward yourself and reward those around you when they reach a goal as well, because a little recognition can go a long way. If I new I had to be in the Winners’ Circle to attend a certain event, I would go to all lengths to get there. I do remember a cruise I missed and I vowed I would never miss another…and I haven’t!
In our world there is a tendency to focus on what wasn’t accomplished too often. It is so important for us to make sure that we work on changing this habit because, as people, we often do more good and accomplish much more than we give ourselves and others around us credit for. So many people never get recognized in their daily jobs or life and they are touched when they are sent a special card, flowers or a special gift, or when you or the group , want to celebrate their success with them
A lot of times it’s just a matter of believing that we deserve it too. We can start by simply rewarding ourselves for even small accomplishments in our business.
Make that decision today to celebrate your successes and the goals that you have reached in your business. If you haven’t reached your goal yet, find a successful business colleague and get their help to get you to that goal.

What Is Your Bucket List?
When the movie, THE BUCKET LIST, came out , everyone was talking about what they would like to do with their life! I loved that about the movie- it made people realize that life is too short to keep saying someday or worse than that, not even knowing what they want to do or accomplish with their lives!
Have you thought about the places you want to visit, maybe where you want to live? One thought-provoking question for me has always been how many summers do I have left to enjoy?
The other day I was asking my 13 year old granddaughter if the days were going by like a blink of an eye for her as well and she said yes! So I guess this world is moving at a faster rate! Even the young are noticing it! It’s time to take a moment and make that Bucket List.
What about a Bucket List for your business? You knew I’d get to this, didn’t you? What rank do you want to end up at and when? Get clear on what you want to do with your life, your business, the friends you have met and want to meet yet!
Then make a Bucket List for each day! Don’t let one more day slip through your fingers without making it count. The easiest way to do that is plan the day ahead , or you can do it first thing in the morning. It is more fun planning ahead though!
Write down the most important things that will move your business FORWARD for that day! That does not mean making the beds, doing the laundry, etc. I’m talking about the orders you need to collect, the people you need to talk to, the people you need to train. That will move your business forward. Oh, and don’t forget to put in a reward for getting all this done. It might mean going for a bike ride or a walk and taking the time to smell the roses. Put something in there you enjoy doing. That will make you want to get your business tasks done right away so you can enjoy those activities.
When you are making those appointments, have a sense of urgency as well. Book in your appointments 24-48 hours ahead, not weeks ahead. Anything that can last a week to hear about the business, can’t be too exciting or profitable. Think about it, if someone offered you a franchise for Starbuck’s, would you tell them you can’t see them for a week or two? I know when I was told about MXI Corp, I had to wait 12 hours and I could hardly bear that! If they can’t make that event or the time you propose, suggest you talk about it right then and there- on the phone!I always have a reason why they need to take action now. It could be I’m just starting and I want my best people at the top of my business ( so that they can have 50% of my business under them), or if you have been in awhile, tell them you are organizing a new board of directors and would like to discuss it with them first. People always want to be in the know first and they always want to know what’s in it for them! Then there might be a promotion or a contest that you would like them to earn. Develop a sense of urgency for them to listen and then to take action!
That sense of urgency continues in getting your new people started. Often people are a little frightened calling their contacts in case they are asked a question they don’t know. Make sure you prepare them right away and get them off to a good start. If you do a little dream-building with them and tell them this contest or promotion is soon over, you create a reason and often excitement for them to do it now! Get them to think of the end result they would like to create and take the steps to move forward! Do it now ,do it now, do it now!!
And that goes for you too. If you or your people are not moving up the ranks quickly, some will get bored or frustrated and stop working. Everyone needs to see positive movement! Some will think if no one is moving up, it can’t be done. It seems to me that man thought it was impossible to run at a 4 minute mile.. No one tried because they thought it was impossible. Then, out of the blue, Roger Bannister ran a mile in less than 4 minutes and now it’s a common accomplishment for most runners. The same is true for everything. Henry Ford wanted a 4 cylinder engine for his cars. His engineers said it couldn’t be done. No one had ever built it. He gave them 6 months to find a way. They did eventually come back with a 4 cylinder motor when they realized he was giving up his idea, and today his concept is commonplace in automobiles.
